ORIGIN OF DRY SKIN

For those that are not familiar with or want to learn more about dry skin, here’s your guide to Skincare 101: Dry Skin Edition.

Dry skin happens due to an inadequate supply of sebum and lipids. When this happens, your skin will lose its strength to produce and maintain sufficient moisture that your skin needs. As a result, you will experience dry and flaky skin.

As you grow older, your skin becomes drier and thinner. The Hyaluronic Acids that are store in your skin will lessen as you age. Your skin’s hydration will be in trouble.

Do not get confused with dehydration. Dry skin is different from dehydrated skin. Dehydrated skin is easily treated and preventable. On the other hand, dry skin can be genetic and requires continuous efforts to maintain the skin’s moisture.
